  • Keira is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology, Health and Society from Cornell University.  She completed her dietetic internship at Cornell University and University of Rochester Medical Center.  Keira has been with FLIK since 2016, bringing health and wellness expertise to a variety of settings, from corporate cafes to senior living communities.  Her personal food & nutrition philosophy is to be adventurous, listen to your body, and enjoy your food!  She seeks to eliminate sterss around making food choices to help you be your happiest, healthiest self.  Feel free to email Keira about getting FIT with FLIK by clicking here.

FUNCTIONS OF MOOD

Vitamin D is nicknamed "the happiness vitamin." Research shows that getting enough vitamin D may help prevent and treat depression, so make sure you're getting enough.
The best source of vitamin D is sunlight, which may be part of the reason we feel happier in the warmer months when the days are longer.

Eat a balanced diet that includes eggs, fatty fish, mushrooms, fortified milk, orange juice, and oatmeal, which are all good sources of this vitamin D.

Nutrients that support your mind and mood include omega-3s, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin B16, vitamin B12, and folate.
